What does this acquisition mean for me, a current Caribou customer?

First and foremost, thank you for partnering with Caribou up until now! We are committed to working with you to continue to deliver a best-in-class healthcare planning experience. Our priority is that you experience no interruption to services so that you and your clients keep access to HealthPlanner as we integrate with Move Health.

The biggest change is that you will now have access to licensed insurance agents that are able to help your clients fulfill the final steps of the healthcare planning step: enrollment. A member of each firm that works with Caribou has been contacted about what to expect moving forward, including account changes, partnership options and more.

What was the driving force behind Caribou’s acquisition? 

This was a strategic decision to provide a software-enhanced, end-to-end solution for advisors and clients. In most cases, this will drastically reduce the cost of engaging clients in healthcare planning and expand the ability for clients to access the service—a net benefit for clients and advisors that’s now available through Caribou and Move Health’s partnership. With the new process and model, clients will be guided through the entire healthcare planning process, including enrollment in their chosen plan. This partnership also equips us to offer additional healthcare planning options to clients outside of Medicare and the Marketplace, including ancillary coverages like dental and vision, as well as Marketplace coverage alternatives.

Will you still offer unbiased guidance?

If you've worked with us up until this point, you know that objective health insurance advice is our core believe. Naturally, this was a key consideration in pursuing this next chapter for the business. We are confident in Move Health's process to provide unbiased guidance to you and your clients. While their agents are licensed, they are salaried and frequently help clients navigate through non-commissionable plan options (e.g. staying on their existing plan, COBRA/retiree benefits/Federal Employee Health Benefits, and with states or carriers that don't pay commissions).

Will my current pricing with Caribou change?

Pricing will be changing - and in most cases, it will be favorable for you and your clients! Move Health has a tiered, per-seat advisor license model with options that include the HealthPlanner application.

Our priority is for Caribou customers to experience no interruption in existing services, so we are happy to work with you if you need time to do things like a compliance review. For customers who are in the middle of a term or have households that are prepaid, options will be provided for how to best proceed on a firm-by-firm basis. All Caribou customers have been contacted separately as part of the announcement.
